Interests

There is a great deal I am interested in ... so much in fact that it is difficult to find time for it all.

I enjoy wilderness adventures in the form of extended expeditions kayaking and backpacking.  Hiking, rock climbing, fly fishing and telemark skiing are also on my list of fun things to do in the wilds.

International travel is one of the things I enjoy most.

Over the past two years my principle interest has been our daughter Emmy.  There is nothing I enjoy as much as watching her discover the world and her place in it.  The exuberance with which she greets each day and activity is inspiring.  It is common for me to have a sore face from smiling too much after a couple of hours with her.

As far as more conventional sports go I love tennis and was a teaching professional for many years.  I also enjoy basketball, road biking, running, ping pong, volleyball, water skiing, telemark skiing, and ultimate frisbee.  One of my favorite activities is surfing!

I enjoy reading though I have not been doing it as much of late.  I am also an amateur photographer.  I play the guitar, banjo and accordion a little to.

My professional interests fall in the realm of helping people realize the incredible capacity they have to live happy, productive and rewarding lives.  Over the past couple of decades this interest has come to life in the form of teaching, starting new schools or programs, and counseling.

I also enjoy rough carpentry and working with my hands.
