I have been an educator and administrator for 23 years and have a strong background in counseling. My professional experience is fairly diverse so I thought it might interesting for folks to get a glimpse of some of the work I
have done prior to The Compass School. My resume is posted below.
This year I will starting up a private counseling practice here in Vermont.
This work will include therapy for adults and children that is oriented towards
helping people tap into their innate health, wisdom and common sense.

Serve adults, youth, families, couples and organizations to help them develop an understanding of, and access to, their innate health, wisdom, and common sense. My work helps people enjoy greater well-being, grace, and success in their personal and professional lives. Services include one-on-one four-day sessions, hourly sessions, workshops, seminars and long-term training programs.
Director The Watershed School, Boulder, CO. June 2003- December 2004.
Worked with small team of individuals to create an innovative independent high school with an emphasis on community, multiculturalism, and sense of place. Collectively developed school vision, program, and culture. Responsibilities included: Student recruitment, selection, and support. Staff recruitment and selection. Community development, program development, operations, teaching math and fundraising.
Founding Head of School Shackleton Schools, Inc. Ashby, MA. April 1997 - July 2002.
Created and managed independent pilot school of a planned family of inspiring, college-preparatory, expedition-based, boarding high schools and professional development centers -- designed to inspire and educate young people to become Leaders, Educators, Community-builders, Entrepreneurs, and Stewards of the Earth. Responsibilities included: Creation of school culture and vision, development of integrated curriculum, staff hiring and development, student recruitment admissions and support, budgeting, development materials and engagements, sustainable campus and building design, counseling students, parents, and staff, program assessment, professional development center vision and implementation.

Masters Projects
TROPICAL ECOLOGY PROGRAM - Designed, developed and implemented three-week intensive experiential tropical ecology program for high school students in U.S. Virgin Islands.
RAIN FOREST PROJECT - Designed and implemented month-long investigation of tropical rain forests of Belize. Designed high school, undergraduate, and graduate school semester expedition curriculum.
DEN'AI AND HOPI CULTURE AND TRADITIONS - Intensive investigation of Den'ai (Navajo) and Hopi culture, including primary and secondary research, and extended home-stays.
