Welcome to Lauren's Pages

Welcome to Lauren's pages!
As I begin my second year at Compass, I continue to be inspired and energized by this amazing community of teachers, students, staff, and families.
I teach Middle School Humanities, advise the 8th grade,
and am the faculty point person for Judiciary, among many other things. I also teach several writing, arts, and physical exploratories.
A Little Bit About Me...
I am a teacher, rock climber, writer, gardener, cook, hiker, dancer, traveler, and sister to four siblings... among many other things!
I am originally from Annapolis, MD, but fell in love with Vermont while attending Marlboro College, where I completed my B.A. in Environmental Studies and Literature. After working as an environmental educator, ESL tutor, and gardener, and obtaining a TESOL certification from the School for International Training, I moved to Arizona for a few years in order to work for a non-profit legal services organization that aids immigrants and refugees detained by the Department of Homeland Security. After traveling in this country and in Europe, I returned to Vermont. I completed my M.Ed from Antioch University New England in Keene, NH last year. I am thrilled to be working at Compass in what is truly a "dream job" for me!
